All across the country, police will increase DUI patrols this weekend in anticipation of Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Denver will be celebrating the 25th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival and Parade at Civic Center Park May 4th and 5th. The festivities in Denver will include, not only the parade, but also a green chili cook off, taco eating contest and chihuahua races. Unfortunately, with this celebration comes increased DUI patrols, which inevitably means, increased DUI arrests.
If you are arrested for a DUI, it’s important to contact an experienced DUI attorney right away to make sure you do not lose any of your rights and privileges. For example, did you know that you only have 7 days to contact DMV to try to contest the revocation of your driver’s license and that if you do not make the request within those 7 days, then you lose the right to have the hearing? Did you know that Denver has multiple cameras throughout the city that may record your DUI stop and investigation and which may not be preserved if not requested in a timely fashion? Did you know that there may be a booking video of you? Or an in-car video of you performing the roadside tests?
